It is a common condition that creates an imbalance in the musculosceletal system around the hip, pelvis and lower back. Although the condition is harmless then this imbalance over time creating unnecessary strain on muscles and joints. Over time, as an uneven load could inflict disabilities, decreased load tolerance and wear. It can often be a cause of recurrent ailments.

Cause:
Lower cross syndrome occurs by shortening the spinal (muscles on the back) crossed with increasing shortening of hip flexoers (muscles on the front) , weak buttock and abdominal muscles.

There are many reasons why one may have increased stress state (stiffness) of different muscle groups. The most common causes are incorrect posture / low level of awareness of how to perform daily tasks, improper training, one-sided stress and too high tension in the lumber area. And also general poor physical condition.

Symptoms:

Can be a pain in the lower back, hip or pelvic joints. Pain in spine, buttock muscles, hip flexores or groin.

Reduced mobility of the hip, pelvis or lumbar region.
Postural changes increased sway in the lower back, externally rotated hip bones, hyperextention of the knees,
increased tension / stiffness in the lower back and / or buttock muscles. Often shown with a protruding tummy.
Examination:
We will conduct a thorough medical history and examination to determine the cause and context of the imbalance and the postural changes that a lower cross syndrome has caused over time. Then we find the appropriate treatment measures.

Treatment:
Often the locked joints of the hip, pelvis, lumbar has to be corrected with one or more adjustments (manipulation), to restore normal joint movement. Treatment is usually not painful and you quickly see improvements in pain and function. This should be combined with guided strengthening of the weak muscles and stretching the tight ones and ergonomic training. In case you are a golfer, you should get help with the set up position and the swing characteristic. We can also help you with this as Verified TPI fitness instructor.

What can I do myself?

Try to maintain movement as well as possible.
Follow the exercises you been instructed to, both to strengthen the weak muscles and increase flexibility in the short muscles.
Prevention:

Good posture, increased awareness and concentration on how to perform movements without “cheating”.
Exercise, movement, stretching.
Maintain optimal functioning of the rest of the spine, hip, knee and foot joints. As you know, A path not walked on, grows fast up again. Synonymous with that, if you do not take out full motion you will eventually lose it.

Let Physiospain be your gain!

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease. There are many diseases resulting from diabetes, e.g. changes in the connective tissue, neuropathy (impaired sense of touch) and reduced circulation. Seen from the foot’s point of view, this is an unfortunate combination. There is a risk that you will not feel pressure from your shoe or folds in your stockings. This may induce sores on your feet which only heal with great difficulty.

Foot sores on a diabetic foot may quickly develop into serious injuries that require a surgical procedure. The sores will most often develop underneath the foot, on the toes, between the toes or on the heel. In the beginning, they may not look like much, but it is still essential that you have them checked and treated by a chiropodist as soon as possible. All the possible problem areas make it important that you establish a routine for your feet.

Chiropodist
Sores call for a chiropodist
As a diabetic, you should always consult a chiropodist who can give you a “status” of your foot. The chiropodist will examine whether you have an impaired sense of touch. If this is the case, it is important that you continue to consult a chiropodist with special training within the area of diabetic feet. If you have or have had foot sores, it is also essential that you see a chiropodist regularly. Physiotherapists can examine functionality and the status of your joints, but when it comes to sores, it demands the expert knowledge of the chiropodist.

Take care of your feet
Give your feet a thorough check-up every day. The skin must be whole and smooth, both on top and underneath. Use a mirror if it is difficult to see the whole foot.

Clean feet
Keep your feet clean with a brief, daily wash in lukewarm, soapy water. Test the temperature of the water with your hands, before you put your feet in. If you have an impaired sense of touch in your feet, you may get burns without even noticing. Avoid long foot baths that reduce the resistance of the skin. Dry your feet well and take special care between the toes in order to prevent athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). If the skin on your feet becomes too dry, it may rupture and crack. The feet must be moisturised after each foot bath. Avoid moisturising between the toes. Your doctor or chiropodist can recommend suited creams.

Hot or cold feet
If you have a tendency towards hot, moist feet, you can use an antiperspirant available at the pharmacists. Cold feet may, however, be countered by massage, foot gymnastics and circulation exercises. Your physiotherapist can help you by suggesting specific exercises. It is also important to make sure that there is enough room in socks and shoes. Avoid warming your feet with an electric heating cushion or the likes. It is better to use a woollen blanket or woollen socks.

Toe nails
Toe nails must be cut straight across. If you have hard nails, it is best to cut them right after your foot bath while they are still soft. Make sure there are no sharp corners or edges. If you have problems with your toe nails, a chiropodist can help you.

Your feet grow A LOT!
Change your shoes
Your feet “grow” during the day, and with some people they swell. Therefore you should change your shoes regularly during the day. Before you put on your shoes, you should check your shoes with your hand for rough spots or other kinds of unevenness in the shoes that may irritate the skin. It often takes very little to make a hole, especially if your feet swell during the day.

Callous skin
If you get pressure marks, corns or very callous or even cracked skin, it is a sign of overload. Never try to remove callous skin, corns or warts yourself. Over-the-counter drugs for the removal of warts and corns should be avoided because they often damage the skin. See a chiropodist instead who can help you find the reason for the callous skin.

Blisters
Never puncture a blister that has developed due to faulty footwear or overload of the feet. The fluid in the blister protects the new, delicate layer of skin, until it can be subjected to wear. Put a dry piece of gauze on the blister to protect the delicate skin, if the blister ruptures.
If there is blood or pus in the blister instead of a clear fluid, you should contact your doctor or chiropodist.

Athlete’s foot (Tinea pedis)
Athlete’s foot is seen as white, soft coverings or flaming red areas, most commonly on the forefoot, or even as small beads on the foot sole or all over the foot. Athlete’s foot is treated partly with a fungicide available at the pharmacists, and partly by avoiding creating a hot, moist environment for the foot, in which the fungi will thrive. Change your socks daily.

Bare feet
Never go barefoot. Not even in your own home. If you have a reduced circulation or impaired sense of touch in your feet, you must avoid walking around barefoot. It is also wise to protect your feet against sharp objects on the beach. When vacationing in warm countries, the sand can become so hot from the sun that you risk burning your feet. Walking around barefoot outside is especially dangerous because of the risk of cuts and infections.
Never go barefoot!

Treat your feet nicely
Your footwear must fit you
The right shoe size is extremely important for a diabetic. The wrong type of shoe may cause sores and even amputation, if the worst comes to pass. Because the size and shape of the foot changes with time, it is important to ensure that your shoe size is correct. Always buy your shoes in the afternoon. At this time of day, your feet are at their largest. It should never be necessary to “break in” a pair of shoes. An easy way to check a pair of shoes is to draw a contour of your foot on a piece of paper and then add a few millimetres at the toes. Remember to draw the contour in the afternoon, when your feet are at their largest. Cut out the model and see if it fits smoothly in your shoes (no bends). Use it when you buy shoes, but also to check if your old footwear still fits. New footwear should only be used ½ hour the first time. Then take the shoe off and check the skin for any pressure marks (red marks) and blisters. Use a mirror or have someone help you control your feet.

Before you put on your footwear, you should check that there are no pebbles or sand in your shoe. Make a habit of checking and shaking your shoe, before you put it on.

Clogs
The muscles of the feet do not function normally when you wear clogs – not even the ones with flexible soles – but clogs can be appropriate in certain working situations. If you wear clogs at work, it is, however, important to use soft, flexible shoes in your own time.

Socks
A sock which is too tight and wrinkled or a seam in the sock may cause pressure marks and sores. It is a good idea to turn the seam of the sock outside and always choose a sock which is big enough. This also goes for nylons.

Physiotherapist or chiropodist
If you have foot sores or an impaired sense of touch, you should have your chiropodist make you a protective inlay. Chiropodists have special training within this field. If you have healthy feet without sores or other conditions, you can get help from a physiotherapist, who may even help you by making you a pair of dynamic insoles. This can give you better balance, functionality when walking and increased circulation. Being a diabetic, it is important that your insoles do not take up too much space in your shoes, thus squeezing your foot.

The insole must fit your foot
In order to stimulate the circulation in your foot, it is important that the insole is dynamic, so that it does not prevent the musculature of your foot from working. To ensure that the insole fits your foot optimally, you should make appointments for control examinations with your physiotherapist. In the beginning, it is important only to use the insole for short periods of time (5-10 minutes). Immediately after use you must check that there are no pressure marks or blisters. Step up the use of the insoles slowly.

What can SuperSole do for YOU?
SuperSole have developed an insole especially for the diabetes foot – “Care” This sole is developed with a special kind of shock absorption. Apart from being very durable, it also has a “memory”, which means that it shapes itself precisely after the contours of your foot, thus providing added comfort and maximum relief.

Apart from the optimal shock absorption and relief, the insole is fitted with a very hard-wearing surface. The surface is ultra thin, which means that the shock absorption of the insole is not decreased. Furthermore, this surface makes it easy to take the shoes on and off, so that the socks do not fold. Just like all the other SuperSole insoles, the Care insole can be adjusted and fitted a countless number of times, making it possible for you to have it adjusted for maximum comfort and relief.

Increased circulation
SuperSole is the most dynamic insole on the market, which means that the foot works naturally – to your advantage. In principle, the insoles functions as a booster. This ensures that your foot has optimal circulation, and this also helps prevent creation of sores and safeguard that you posture is correct.
When you have chosen SuperSole for your diabetic foot, you are guaranteed that it is made by a specially trained physiotherapist.

A large number of injuries are connected to the way you subject your feet to load. Research and experience has shown that many of these injuries can be treated with exercises combined with insoles. Insoles can correct distortions in your body that are due to an incorrect position of the foot.

Facts about feet
Your feet – a brilliant construction.
Every time you go for a run or play football, you use your feet without giving them any thought. You ought to do that in the future. Your feet are the part of your body that is subjected to the greatest load of all, and even though they are a brilliant construction, things can easily go wrong. Your two feet contain 52 bones in all, and these bones only weigh 3-4 grams each. Despite the light construction, healthy feet can easily endure large loads of up to 250 kg when running. However, you must take good care of this technical masterpiece when you exercise. Overload or wrong shoes may translate into injuries higher up in your body.

Back pain can set off in your feet
You put a load on your feet from the first steps you take when you get out of bed in the morning, when you go for a run or take off for the crucial smash – and all the way to bed in the evening. Every day, this means up to 15,000 steps. So needless to say, any wrong position of the foot, even the smallest one, can influence the rest of your body. Therefore it is important to correct possible distortions, so that you strain your body as little as possible.

What is my foot like?
Your feet are unique – but are they good enough?
Low arch or high instep – your feet must put up with it all. If you have a low arch, you will fall too much inwards on your foot (pronation). This will overload your joints, tendons and muscles, and you carry the risk of injuries to you arch tendon, Achilles tendon, shin, knee, hip or back.

However, if you have a high arch, you foot will be rigid, and this will also put a strain on the whole system.

Therefore, it is important that you find out what type of foot you have, and whether you need insoles. If you are an athlete, you should choose dynamic insoles – only dynamic insoles will help you without weakening the musculature.

What can SuperSole do for YOU?
SuperSole carry different types of insoles ideal for active people – from the top athlete to ordinary people training regularly – or just for every-day use. The insoles come with various extents of shock absorption and varying rigidity. The insoles have either a sophisticated micro fiber surface that has the effect that the foot can move freely in the shoe, or another type of surface particularly suited for cutting sports (e.g. badminton, squash or handball), because the foot is held in position by the insole. Furthermore, the insoles are perforated for optimal transportation of sweat. SuperSole insoles are only made and fitted by physiotherapists with special training. This provides you as an athlete with extra security concerning the treatment, as it is conducted by a physiotherapist with a special knowledge about feet, but also a thorough knowledge of sports injuries and the treatment of these.

What is SuperSole
– individually fitted training and insoles.
Many injuries in back, hip, knee and ankles ensue from your feet. It is common knowledge that if the foundation of a house is distorted or full of cracks, you can be certain that the rest of the house will follow. It is the same with the body. The 26 bones of the foot is the foundation of the body. If there are distortions in the foundation, the body will compensate higher up. The SuperSole treatment concept has been developed with this in mind. In order to become a SuperSole therapist, a physiotherapist must complete a special course. This is to assure that you as a patient will receive the best possible care, and that your physiotherapist has received special training in order to be able to fit the insoles and examine your feet for incorrect positions. This is a mark of quality. As the SuperSole physiotherapists can be found all over the country, you will always be able to find treatment, almost wherever you are. We are so sure of our product that you can hand back your insoles if you are not satisfied with them and get your money back.

SuperSole in general.
Your back, knees and feet are strained heavily from work in a standing/walking position. An individually fitted insole and a training program from a physiotherapist may be the solution. Contact us, e.g. via your safety representative, and we will visit you to tell you more about the concept. The design of the footwear is no obstacle. The SuperSole insoles can be fitted in form and shape to fit any shoe.

You do not always end up with insoles.
The concept as such is not only built around the making and fitting of the insoles, but it also includes a precise examination of the anatomical conditions of your feet and legs and a course of action which is a mixture of physio therapeutic treatment and exercises.

Therefore it is important to emphasize that you will have a greater chance of success with the concept, if you are active with your personal exercise program. We do not just make a pair of insoles for the fun of it. So do not be surprised if it all ends up with quite another recommendation than insoles. The fundamental basis is that you will have what is best for you.

If you do end up with a pair of insoles, it is always possible to adjust and re-adjust them if there are changes in the status of your foot. Furthermore, the insoles are dynamic. This means that your joints and muscles can still move, but now with your foot in the right position.

Control
During the course of your SuperSole treatment process, your feet and body will develop in a positive direction. Therefore we recommend that you have your insoles checked regularly in order for you to have the desired effect of the treatment at all times.

If you want to know more about the concept or the various insoles, please contact us at Clinica Physiospain We can also help you to find your nearest SuperSole physiotherapist.

Often it is a case of doing things a little differently. Modern treatment of rheumatoid arthritis implies that the destruction of the joints caused by the disease in e.g. the feet is limited. Despite this, many people with rheumatoid arthritis or other types of arthritis end up with “arthritic feet”. Therefore it is very important that you as an arthritis sufferer take care of your feet. Many of the damages that develop are due to “inappropriate” footwear. By choosing the right footwear – supplemented by insoles if required – the damages can be limited. Physiotherapists cannot do anything about the arthritis as such, but by choosing the right treatment, we can help prevent the damages from getting worse.

Facts about arthritis
Arthritis and the right footwear
For an arthritic foot, it is important that the footwear has the necessary extra space over the forefoot, both in width and height. The toes suffer the most, if there is not enough room in the shoe. Remember, it is NEVER too late to set your feet free. This is important both for balance and walking.

Avoid high heeled shoes. High heels push the weight towards the forefoot, and this will easily overload the forefoot and the joints of the toes. These joints are already in a weakened state due to the arthritis.

Important for you arthritis sufferer
Follow these tips and do your feet a big favour

1. Find your own pace.
It is you, not your arthritis, who decide what you can and cannot do. Find the pace that suits you. Quit when you need to.

2. Be active
It is important that you are active. Activity strengthens the muscles and keeps the joints going. At the same time, activity brings you comfort, physically and mentally. Talk to your physiotherapist about the type of exercise that would be best for you.

3. Take breaks
Spread out tasks and activities during the day. Take breaks. You will get as much done as you can.

4. Know your arthritis and the treatment of it.
Get thorough information and knowledge about the cause and effect of the disease from your general practitioner. The symptoms of rheumatic disorders vary, and there are great individual differences.

5. Take your medication according to your doctor’s advice.
Arthritis medicine is used for relieving pain and bringing down the inflammation. Take advice from your general practitioner.

6. Describe any changes.
Tell your doctors and therapists about the changes you experience. They can adjust your treatment accordingly.

7. Eat healthily and keep your weight down.
Follow the general dietary recommendations and keep a healthy and varied diet. Go easy on sugar and fat. If your weight increases, the pressure and stress on your body and your feet increase at the risk of further pain.

8. Relieve the pressure on your joints.
Good working positions and lifting techniques are important in order not to overload your joints and feet. Get help from your physiotherapist.

9. Helping aids – made to make life easier.
There are many kinds of helping aids, both for work and home, which make it easier to handle your own personal hygiene, to dress and to cook. Seek advice from your physiotherapist.

What can SuperSole do for YOU?
SuperSole have developed an insole which is especially suited for the arthritic foot – “Care2 This sole is developed with a special kind of shock absorption. Apart from being very durable, it also has a “memory”, which means that it shapes itself precisely after the contours of your foot, thus providing added comfort and maximum relief.

What is SuperSole
– individually fitted training and insoles

SuperSole in general
Your back, knees and feet are strained heavily from work in a standing/walking position. An individually fitted insole and a training programme from a physiotherapist may be the solution. Contact us, e.g. via your safety representative, and we will visit you to tell you more about the concept. The design of the footwear is no obstacle. The SuperSole insoles can be fitted in form and shape to fit any shoe.

You do not always end up with insoles.
The concept as such is not only built around the making and fitting of the insoles, but it also includes a precise examination of the anatomical conditions of your feet and legs and a course of action which is a mixture of physiotherapeutic treatment and exercises.

Therefore it is important to emphasize that you will have a greater chance of success with the concept, if you are active with your personal exercise programme.

If you want to know more about the concept or the various insoles, please, contact us at Clinica PhysiospainWe can also help you tofind your nearest SuperSole physiotherapist.

Little feet
A child’s feet are so fine and perfect because they are not wrapped in shoes – this until they are 10-15 months old. Then they get shoes on. This brochure will inform you about the most important matters concerning your child’s feet.

Children’s feet grow
Children’s feet grow a lot. Especially those of small children grow at an incredible pace. Therefore it is important that you as a parent control your child’s feet often and check, whether the shoes are big enough. We recommend that this is done at least once a month, as children’s feet grow intermittently. A child’s foot can grow up to 20 mm in six months. When the children are 2-3 years old, their feet grow by 15 mm. Subsequently the feet grow about 10 mm a year. For boys, this will continue until they are about 15, and for girls until they are about 13.

The foot
A foot consists of 26 bones. These are very soft, when the child is only a couple of years old. Therefore it is important to take good care of them. It is important to make sure that there is plenty of room for the foot in the child’s sock. It is also important that the sock is made from a type of material in which the foot can breathe and shed sweat in order to avoid athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). Children sweat 2-3 tablespoons of fluid a day from their feet.

The child’s shoes
The shoe must be shaped after a healthy and natural foot. There must be room at the front of the shoe for the toes to lie in direct continuation of the metatarsal bones, i.e. the inner side of the shoe must be straight.

The opening in the back of the shoe must be narrow enough to maintain the foot in the same place and ensure that the foot does not slide forward in the shoe.

The heel of the shoe must be low – this way the weight of the body is distributed appropriately on the foot.

A firm heel cover supports and controls the foot when walking. The sole must be flexible so that the muscles of the foot can function optimally and thus help maintain the curve of the arch. The shoe must have the right length, width and toe height.

Basically shoes should have a 15 mm surplus in length: 3 mm for the curve of the nose, 5 mm for sliding, so that the foot can move around in the shoe and a 7 mm addition to allow for growing feet. The shoe must fit well on the foot with a flexible type of closing in the form of laces, Velcro or wide straps.

Pick the right shoe
A trick for buying shoes for children is to draw a contour of the child’s foot, add a few millimetres and cut out the contour. This must be done in the afternoon when the foot is at its largest. Now you have a model of your child’s foot, which you can place in the shoes and find out, which ones that fit the model best, before you decide which shoes to get for your child.
An ancient Chinese proverb runs: “If your feet ache, then you will forget all other worries”. In return, there will not be much rest, because your feet are shouting angrily: “Why did you not take care of us in time”? – and it is hard to relax with all that shouting.

What can SuperSole do for YOU?
SuperSole are especially good for children’s feet because the unique, dynamic ability of the insoles allows your child’s foot to develop in the right direction, and at the same time, the insole can be adjusted to the development of the foot. SuperSole insoles are only made and fitted by specially trained physiotherapists, which is your and your child’s assurance that the insole is always fitted correctly, and that the build and biomechanics of the whole body is taken into consideration. The insole comes in sizes down to size 22 (US: 6), which makes it possible to begin treatment at an early stage. The insoles can be re-adjusted over and over, so that they always fit the course of treatment and your child’s foot.

What is SuperSole
– individually fitted training and insoles.
Many injuries in back, hip, knee and ankles ensue from your feet. It is common knowledge that if the foundation of a house is distorted or full of cracks, you can be certain that the rest of the house will follow. It is the same with the body.

Back pain may start at your feet!

Many different patient groups use insoles made by e.g. chiropodists, orthotists, orthopedic shoemakers and physiotherapists. The question is: who makes the best insoles? Or maybe rather:
what is the difference?

With the SuperSole concept, we have taken side and chosen the physiotherapists. The SuperSole concept is a treatment system for foot related problems, which combines well-known physiotherapy treatment – exercise therapy, mobilization and manipulation – with the possibility of making customised insoles to patients who may benefit from the insoles.

Physiotherapists are well aware that a distortion of the back, hip or knee may be caused by the foundation – the foot – being out of balance. To them, it is elementary that foot problems cannot be treated without examining how a change in the static’s of the foot, e.g. when using an insole, can affect the rest of the body.

In this connection, the 3½-year education of the physiotherapists within the areas of anatomy, biomechanics and examination technique is quite unique. It is unthinkable for a physiotherapist to support a patient foot with an insole without examining if the real reason for the problem is:

– that mobility in a foot joint has been changed and must be treated.

– that the foot is part of a compensation for an anatomically too long leg.

– poor alignment between the foot and the knee.

It is important to examine and treat all of the above, before producing and handing out an insole. But what is even more important: insoles must never become a passive helping aid but must be seen as part of a treatment. It is essential that the insoles can be adjusted continuously as other forms of treatment such as mobilisation and rehabilitation have an impact on the cause of the problem. The insole should also be adjusted if the patient condition changes due to progression of an illness. Making and adjusting a pair of insoles at the physiotherapists as part of a treatment process ensures constant adjustment of the insoles to the patient needs.

Right Sequence
A correct cinematic sequence meaning right movement of the pelvis- upper body – arms and club are absolutely a must for the optimal result. Motion and power patterns is very much like a four-stage rocket, were the power of every stage in the sequence is carried over too the following.
If you are in anyway physically hindered resulting in a lack of full motion, strength, balance or coordination, your body will try to compensate with a very unstable result.
Reduced Injury
The risk of inducing pain, overload or injuries is eminent and
guaranteed is that they will come, sooner or later.
Titleist have come to understand this and have therefore developed a process called “Screening”, where the movement of the joints is measured in degrees.
You also do additional testing of muscle strength and balance among other things.

Authorised Titleist Instructor
As an authorised Titlest instructor, I am proficient to do this “screening”, thus being able to tell you with a large degree of accuracy – and this without ever having to se you play one ball – if you have a problem with your ”swing”,
Resulting in a slide, sway, casting, reverse spine angel, hanging back
The “Screening” is best combined with a video recording of your swing, this to easier illustrate what needs to bee corrected. I can facilitate you with the right exercise plan training instructions and if needed treatment.
This to improve your ability to get the right sequence,
guaranteeing improvement to your golf swing and limit the risk of injuries.

Collaboration
Between me, you and your golf-pro who will help you correct your tee-off / swing is an important part for us to achieve the best possible result.

TPI – has the biggest collection of golf specific health and exercise information, based on golf experts and tour players experience and knowledge, some of this info they share with you on the website MyTPI.com

It begins with your explanation of pain picture, a general examination, then a following deeper, more specific evaluation of the injury or pain nature of the problem. It is this that is the strength in a physiotherapist thorough and specific evaluation, in order to determine the cause of your problem.Naturally, it is the essence of all effective treatment to achieve the expected results. Only then can an adequate treatment selected.

Visually
After the initial medical history, I will look for the wrong position, deviation from normal posture. Muscle weakness and tension, can almost always explain postural deviations. Visual examination of soft tissue swelling and changes in muscle size (hypertrophy, atrophy) will give me an important diagnostic indication.
This part of the survey called postural ANALYSIS.

Palpation / sensing I will feel (palpate) if there is redness and swelling in the injured area. Sensing the local soft tissue and bone is always an important part of my investigation. Palpation of the muscles will always give me information about charges. malfunction (dysfunction) which will require appropriate treatment. This part of the survey called STATIC palpation.

Mobility / muscle test Is it impaired movement in the area of pain due. injury? Testing of segmental lockups between vertebrae and bevegelsesesutslag both passively and actively. Muscle function as strength and flexibility are paramount to determine which tendon / muscle that is causing the problem. It is certainly not always the area of pain and pain cause correspond to each other. This is called an orthopedic functional test or DYNAMIC palpation.

Neurological test A neurological examination is essential for final diagnosis. Testing of deep tendon reflexes, decreased feeling (sensibility) is required to localize nerve damage. Manual testing of muscle strength / weakness / pain provides additional information. This part of the survey called FUNCTIONAL Neurology.

Complimentary investigations X-ray, MRI; CT, Ulralydskanner (see info); investigation may be needed diagnostic aid. It can also provide information on the issue is outside my field. Medical history, static and dynamic palpation and neurological examination will give me information about the need for these supplementary investigations. If so, you will be forwarded for further examination or advisable to consult a physician or other appropriate person.

Golf News

Golfer’s A-B-C
It is with great pleasure that the Norwegian magazine can present specialist in golf injuries, Rolf Martinsen, as writer of articles on the prevention of just golf injuries that over half of the golfers over age 50 suffer from. Rolf is also authorized Teitleist instructor.

The problems for golfers due to:
1. Poor physical fitness
2. Overload
3. Inadequate heating
4. Poor swing technique

We have in this number chosen to focus on swing technique. It all essential for a golfer to swing properly.
The correct sequence of your game that is right movement of the pelvis, torso, arms and iron are the alpha and omega. The movement, the force numbered, can be compared to a 4-stage rocket where 1st stage leading on to the 2nd stage, etc. This way you get the most power in the battle with the least effort.
If you have physical problems that limit your movement or strength, balance and coordination, you will automatically try to compensate this. It results in an uneven result and a big risk of overloading with pain and injuries.
Teitleist has produced a program called Screening. There is a schematic test of body motion, strength, balance, etc. providing answers to the problems you have with your sving’en.

There are 12 common swing faults that 65% of all amateur golfers. Let’s look at the solution of these problems so you come release injuries.
Good movement, but also good stability is required, so there is good advice for this.
Pretend to turn a seven is rolled iron, so you can find the neutral position of the pelvis. Try turning without next seven iron, but with his arms crossed over his chest. You must now try to tilt your pelvis back and forth. It is often difficult to get the muscles to do this because their backs are often stiff. When you do this, it will feel easier in one direction over the other. Upper body must be kept quiet, just pelvis to move.
Next test is pelvic rotation in the same sjujerns position. You need only rotate the pelvis without movement of the shoulders.
Next test is the rotation of the upper body and pelvis must remain stationary. It is a good idea if you have help from a person who can keep the pelvis still. – Why is it difficult? – A very big problem with players over 50 years is what is called “lower crossed syndrome ‘This means that the muscles in the hips and back are short and tight.
